BADguys by *derLarm "...an amazing traditional artist, and after looking through his gallery, I was stunned." Needless to say, so was I. With a solid use of mixed media on rusted sheet metal, which shows its beautiful texture and color through the image, this piece is both expressive and perfectly controlled in its construction. Make sure to take your time and enjoy this gorgeous gallery. (Suggested by =elithespork and Featured by `stigmatattoo)

That looks amazing!

I love the rusted metal - it really has an impact.

I'm curious - why Kevorkian and his lawyer?
:iconderlarm:
it's part of a very old series that I started for my first exhibit at ©;POP called SÄWbones that was about Kevorkian. When der Lärm started our studio was in a basement in downtown Royal Oak, the hip/trendy suburb of Detroit, and his apartment was literally next-door. It was the year he became so famous/infamous and there were news trucks outside every day. It was also the year of the very first postal rampage which took place at the Royal Oak Post Office. It was the one where someone coined the phrase "going postal". Anyways, I have tons of stories about "doctor" Jack and my brother who was in med school at Georgetown went there for Medical Ethics and he and I used to have long conversations about the whole "Physician Assisted Suicide" issue, so when it came time for my first big solo show I used him as a subject. Never did the painting for that sketch though, and I sold the sketch years ago, but the owner of Device liked it and asked me to do the painting, so there you have it.
Anyway, for my next exhibit I did pictures of naked ladies.
It sold much better.

How interesting having him right next door. Obviously you never had him over for tea.
:iconderlarm:
No, he mostly yelled at us for playing our music too loud.
Grunge was in at the time and I don't think he liked Nirvana.

Kevorkian didn't like Nirvana? Huh, imagine that...
I hope he didn't have anything to do with Kurt's suicide.
:iconderlarm:
Aahh. Interesting theory...
interesting
